چکیده

A large number of novel fatty compounds have been synthesized by catalytic C,C-bond forming addition reactions to the C,Cdouble bond of unsaturated fatty compounds. Radical reactions such as the solvent-free addition of -halocarboxylic acid esters initiated by electron transfer, e.g., from copper to give fat-derived -lactones are described as well as Lewis acid–induced electrophilic addition reactions yielding new oleochemicals such as alkyl-substituted 4-chlorotetrahydropyrans, primary homoallylic alcohols, -, -unsaturated ketocarboxylic acids and Diels–Alder addition products. New catalysts as, e.g., ligandmodified rhodium catalysts for the hydroformylation and heterogeneous boron-modified rhenium catalysts for the olefin metathesis have been developed. The addition of C-nucleophiles such as dimethylmalonate and nitromethane is possible by palladium-(0)catalyzed additions to unsaturated fatty compounds after conversion of the electron-rich to an electron-poor double bond. More than fifty literature articles are reviewed.

Enantioselective alkenylation via nickel-catalyzed cross-coupling with organozirconium reagents.

A new family of organometallic compounds, organozirconium reagents, are shown to serve as suitable partners in cross-coupling reactions of (activated) secondary alkyl electrophiles. Thus, the first catalytic method for coupling secondary alpha-bromoketones with alkenylmetal reagents has been developed, specifically, a mild, versatile, and stereoconvergent carbon-carbon bond-forming process that...

Superparamagnetic Core-Shell-Type Fe3O4/Ru Nanoparticles as Catalysts for the Selective Hydrogenation of an Unconstrained α,β-Unsaturated Ketone

Selective hydrogenation of the carbon-oxygen bond in α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is a synthetic challenge, since C=C bond reduction is thermodynamically more favorable (35 kJ mol–1) than C=O bond reduction.[1] This problem becomes even more complicated by the presence of an aromatic substituent in such systems because of possible ring hydrogenation.[2] Moreover, the transformation of uns...

Asymmetric Organocatalytic Reactions of α, β-Unsaturated Cyclic Ketones

The 1,4-conjugate addition of nucleophiles to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds represents one fundamental bond-forming reaction in organic synthesis. The development of effective organocatalysts for the enantioselective conjugate addition of malonate, nitroalkane and other carbon and heteroatom nucleophiles to cycloenones constitutes an important research field and has been explored in recent...

Single-Step Access to Long-Chain α,ω-Dicarboxylic Acids by Isomerizing Hydroxycarbonylation of Unsaturated Fatty Acids

Dicarboxylic acids are compounds of high value, but to date long-chain α,ω-dicarboxylic acids have been difficult to access in a direct way. Unsaturated fatty acids are ideal starting materials with their molecular structure of long methylene sequences and a carboxylate functionality, in addition to a double bond that offers itself for functionalization. Within this paper, we established a dire...
